Sellita SW200-1

The SW200-1 provides a familiar starting point for a three-hand automatic. It is worth reading the suffix and execution carefully: a family name does not describe every movement sold under that family.

Date and no-date executions

Sellita's 2024–25 catalogue distinguishes the SW200-1 a, with date, from the SW200-1 b, without it. Both are listed at 4 Hz, with 26 jewels and a typical 41-hour reserve. This guide describes the dated reference used by the Atelier. Sellita catalogue, SW200 family.

An extra jewel is not a score for quality. Jewel count describes bearing and mechanism choices; it should not be read as a contest in which the larger number wins.

Similar is not interchangeable

The headline dimensions invite comparison with the ETA 2824-2. That is useful for understanding packaging, but it does not settle the compatibility of an actual case, dial or set of hands. A real build requires the technical drawings and exact supplied execution.

In the builder, compare the two with identical cosmetic choices. A surface treatment, coloured rotor or inscription can change the visible character without establishing a different accuracy grade.

In the atelier

The SW200-1 is a central-seconds automatic with an optional date window at three. Its reserve value follows the cited catalogue; it is not a battery-like countdown measured in the simulation. Exhibition-back decoration is a design choice rather than a promise of a supplier's finish or handwork. Selecting a chronometer inscription does not certify the virtual build. The SW200 date aperture now follows the maker's 2.70 × 2.00 mm opening at 8.85 mm from the movement centre, interpreted at the Atelier's common illustrative scale. Its frame and optional magnifier follow that smaller opening. These dimensions come from Sellita's comparison with the larger SW400, not from a universal rule for every date watch.
